Redruth's Fore Street

Fore Street no traffic so you can wander around at will The name Redruth derives from its Cornish name, Rhyd-druth. Rhyd means 'Res', which is a Cornish equivalent to a ford (across a river). It is the 'druth' (and not the 'Red' part of the name) which means the colour red.

Carn Brea Dominates Redruth

The towns setting is dominated by the granite heights of Carn Brea and Carn Marth. Granite is an igneous rock formed from molten material generated at great depth below the surface. Vapours from the granite carried minerals into the rock's fissures before it finally set

Redruth Isn't Just For The Day

With the night comes a new Redruth, The new street landscaping includes wooden seating, with granite furniture, new street lighting, with resturants pubs and a cinema something for all.
